Workshop organised for teachers of CBSE schools

CCE Workshop for Teachers
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Saturday held a capacity building workshop here for school teachers across south India on the implementation of Comprehensive and Continuous Evaluation (CCE) system and Formative Assessment.

Meena Vishwanathan, education consultant, Bharathi Vidhya Bhavan, Kochi, who was one of the resource persons, said that the objective was to equip teachers with the skills necessary to take classes effectively under this CCE system.

Life skills
K. Navamani, president of Coimbatore Sahodaya Schools Complex and principal of Angappa Senior Secondary School, said that classes on life skills too were held. Around 1,200 teachers from 100 schools in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka took part in the programme along with a few teachers from Oman.

Teachers from ten CBSE schools in Coimbatore too took part, said Manimekalai Mohan, managing trustee of the SSVM Institutions, which is hosting the workshop.

Resource persons
Other resource persons include Vasanthi Thiyagarajan, principal, Sishya School, Hosur; Vijaya Lakshmi Raman, vice-principal, PSBB Senior Secondary School, Chennai; Minoo Aggarwal, principal, D.A.V. Public School; and Margaret David Raj, chief educational officer, Bhakthavatchalam School, Chennai.
