RusFest 2026 : A Spectacular Celebration of Russian Dance & Global Culture | SSVMWS

SSVM World School, proudly hosted RusFest 2026, a captivating cultural celebration that brought the spirit, history, and artistic heritage of Russia to our campus through the universal expressions of dance and storytelling. The event was presented in two special sessions—fore-noon and afternoon—enabling a wider audience of students and faculty to immerse themselves in this enriching cultural exchange.

Over the years, the Russian Cultural Team has played a significant role in fostering global awareness and cultural appreciation among our students. This year’s edition stood out as particularly memorable, with a predominantly new group of performers introducing a fresh theme that reflected renewed creativity, youthful enthusiasm, and a broader global outlook.

The programme unfolded as a vibrant cultural journey—from the lively rhythms of Kalinka and the graceful narrative of Young Mlada, to the elegance of classical ballet, the intensity of Flamenco – Farruca, and the powerful, unifying finale, RUSSIA. Each performance echoed values of discipline, harmony, and international friendship.

Highlighting the deep cultural bond shared by India and Russia, Alexander Dodonov, Director of the Russian House in Chennai, once remarked at a Chennai event that “in both Russia and India, dance is not merely an art form, but a reflection of national identity.” His words resonated strongly with the essence of cultural exchange celebrated at RusFest 2026.

The occasion was further enriched by the gracious presence of Shri Ravi Chandran, General Secretary, Indo-Russian Culture Centre, Chennai, whose encouragement and support added great significance to the event.
